Reporting to the President, the Vice
President of Administrative Services facilitates and promotes effective support for the college's
mission of student learning by providing administrative services management for the college. The
Vice President serves as the college's chief business and financial officer, manages the development
of all budgets, oversees all aspects of the physical plant and capital projects, and serves as a
member of President's Staff.
Working in a collaborative manner as part of the president's
leadership team, the VPAS provides focused financial leadership in the development of budgets,
forecasts and analytics, while ensuring that the college is fiscally sound, well-managed, and meets
government and accounting standards. S/he also collaborates in the effort to procure and align
resources through state appropriation processes, supporting contracts and grants and aligning the
campuses physical master plan and resource development.
Primary duties include the ongoing
leadership and management of financial systems and operations including fiscal reporting to the
Board of Trustees, outside agencies and president; fiscal analysis and planning; budget and revenue
forecasting; development and maintenance of administrative policies and procedures; contract
development review and administration; college budget preparation and administration; management and
supervision of all accounting, purchasing, budget, finance, financial reporting and audit functions,
as well as ancillary services; master plan development; planning, preparation and submittal of all
capital and operating requests to the state; management, operation and maintenance of all college
facilities; risk management and all programs related to employee and student health and safety;
supervision and evaluation of assigned staff; and cooperative work with other areas of the college
in all areas of responsibility.
The Vice President serves on the management team for
collective bargaining with employee organizations; works cooperatively with the Vice President of
Instruction in establishing budgetary enrollment targets; and, represents the college to community
groups and state organizations. As a member of the President's Staff, the Vice President contributes
to policy formulation, strategic planning, budget development and works collaboratively in support
of a positive working environment, college effectiveness, and student success.
